Screw Press sludge dewatering machine
Mechanical Principle
The dewatering drum consists of a thickening zone and a dewatering zone. In the initial thickening zone, solid-liquid separation takes place as filtrate passes through the gaps between the fixed and moving rings.
As the sludge moves forward along the screw shaft, the screw pitch and the gaps between the rings gradually decrease, increasing the pressure inside the dewatering drum. At the discharge end, the back-pressure plate provides additional resistance, further compressing the sludge and forming a dewatered sludge cake.
Process Flow of the Volute Screw Press
The sludge is first fed into the flow regulation tank and then transferred to the flocculation tank, where polymer flocculant is added and mixed with the sludge. The flocculated sludge then flows into the dewatering drum, where solid-liquid separation and compression take place.
The entire process, including sludge feeding, polymer preparation and dosing, and sludge cake discharge, is automatically controlled by the control panel through a built-in timer and sensors.
